Comment Policy

The QCT is about teachers and for teachers and this blog aims to reflect that. We read every comment and highly value all input.

Comments are actively moderated. We aim to complete this task within 10 minutes of posts appearing. (The moderators do sleep sometimes, so if you post late at night or early in the morning it can take longer.)

We moderate comments using the following guidelines:

  • Respect – comments that make personal attacks will not pass
  • Focus – comments should have relevance to the discussion

That’s about it. If we don’t agree with you, we still post your comment.

If your comment does not pass moderation, and you have provided an email address, we will email you to let you know why it didn’t pass and give you options to either edit it or retract it. If you haven’t provided an email address, we just don’t post it.

Spelling and grammar

We don’t deliberately check spelling, but if we spot an obvious error we may correct it. We ask that you don’t focus on these aspects of comment posts – people make typo’s or get things wrong sometimes. Let them.

Personal information

When making a comment, there are optional name and email fields.

The name field is used as a title for you comment.

The email field is never displayed with your comment. It is only there to allow us to contact you if there is a problem with your post.
